A great site for reclaiming PPI from lenders, but how do I best claim from my separate insurance? I took out unemployment cover but not from my mortgage provider. When I was made redundant, the claim was rejected in 2002/3, although I had been fully employed by a bank for 23 years.

Do you mean claim or complain? Who sold you the policy? Why did you not complain when they did not pay out on your redundancy & what reason was given for not paying.

Did you buy on an advised or non-advised basis?

If non-advised, then its tough as no-one did anything wrong for you to complain about. If advised, its probably still tough as most broker/advisers did not become regulated until January 2005. So, this predates that.

Why was your claim rejected? Was your unemployment voluntary or were you still in the initial qualifying period on the policy (most require you to have 6-12 months of cover first or not be aware of any forthcoming restructuring and/or redundancies)?
