Well its cold here today
Thankfully it hasnt been lashing it down so have remained mostly dry today and missed most of the bad weather although i guess that means it will make up for it tomorrow. Not impressed either - ive gone and lost me brolly now! so thats on my thing to buy list.
Had nice soup for lunch (lentil) which was scrummy and bf had a tin of tomato soup - i didnt even know he was a fan of soup but i guess i will be either making some or stocking up on it in my storecupboard now i know he eats it - was yummy and i enjoyed it too. Mother in law has already started the christmas shopping too so we have a tin of choccies with our names on it from her - we do the BOGOF swap every year - ie shes buys BOGOFs and i buy BOGOFS and we squirrel them away then nearer christmas we give each other the freebie one so we have double our stock - moneysaving and pocket friendly.:T
Little one has a cold and has been asleep since he came in from school at 2pm so think hes either had a mad day running round or his bug is getting the better of him, he didnt eat much lunch either though so think it is the bug - hoping that this nap will do him some good and ill keep him snuggled up tomorrow i think and maybe bribe him wiht some baking instead of goign out. Will make sure daddy keeps an eye on him tonight though and gives him his medicine, and then he can have a nice warm bath with mummy tomorrow.
Might even get round to heat proofing the house tomorrow - will get him to help me line curtains with old fleeces, make beds with spare duvets underneath, find out the fleecy blankets for the chairs, and may jsut test them witha snuggle a story and a cup of hot chocolate each.Time to find me again0 -
I'd like to use as little heat as pos this winter. whats everyone doing? i've got lined curtains and blinds in the kit and bathrm. i'm thinking a sleeping bag downstairs would be good and a hat and fingerless gloves.a door curtain too at kitchen door. i like the draught excluder ideas."The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0

I've crumbled. The fire is on - time to bring some wood inside. And start building an ark if this rain keeps up - there's a river running down the lane atm. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

Hi,
Ive never posted on this thread before, so I hope you dont mind. I havent read through all the posts, but, ive seen a couple mentioning putting spare duvet under the sheet which you lie on? Does this give extra warmth?
The reason im asking is because I was thinking of buying an electric blanket, but, if doing this with the quilt is just the same, then I will just do that, also is it comfy lying on it?
