I have never tried putting a duvet under the bottom sheet but I am tempted ... can I have an electric blanket as well? And if so would I put it on top of the duvet or underneath? Thanks!

When you're using it it's handy to have the pocket side facing up - you can stash stuff in it that would normally end up down the side of the sofa - tv remote, a tissue, my small scissors if I'm sewing......my youngest cat likes to sneak in there too sometimes.
Thanks for that Pooky. they sound really lovely, going to make one for myself! I love the idea of a pocket too - yet one more place to lose my glasses!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Basic elderberry syrup
Just cover berries with some sugar and water to cover and simmer for abou five minutes and bottle.
For elderberry tincture - fill a jar one third full of elderberries and then add vodka to fill the jar. Leave for about a month and shake twice a week before discarding the berries - take one teaspoon every four hours for coughs. colds and flu.
My husband who is very cynical reckons it helped the virus we both caught earlier this year."This site is addictive!"

I've looked at that glass site and have put in a quote for the large quantities; I'm always giving jams etc away and they then work out to 30p or less each jar.
Also making a list now:
get chimney swept
buy wood for fires
get more batteries + candles
make a christmas pud
make some chutneys etc.
Don't think I'm going to be able to make more jams right now; with my foot I still can't get about to get the fruit.0 -
We havecavity wall insulation, but only downstairs as the upstairs is wood and tiles. (cornish unit)

Oh yes, but I don't know about you, I wouldn't swap it for anything. Our old HA house in sussex was a fairly new build and I hated it..Give me character over new anyday.
We got over the summer heat problem, we open the loft and put netting over it to keep the spiders away. Cools it down trememndously. The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. Member 10
