Spent £4.99 on 4 x radiator airers from Argos this afternoon. I am hoping that in the cold months ahead when the heating absolutely has to be on, to dry clothes and smalls on. I hate putting the dryer on, though i'm glad to have it. If i can manage ths winter without using it then i might consider getting rid of it and putting another freezer in its place as tht would be of more use to me most probably.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Some time back someone on here suggested I used Cillet Bang to clean the sticky/dried tape residue on my UPVC window frames. Sorry I can't remember who it was now, I found it written down in a notebook
Anyways, I decided to try it today and WOW
I'm using one of those cheap craft knives (10 for £1) fully extended, to carefully & slowly scrape some of the residue off, and then a green scourer & the cillet neat. Its coming up a treat, which is impressive as I live on a very busy road so there's lots of traffic pollution staining it as well
Now all I have to do is find someway to cover up the scratches made by my previous attempts.
The landlady will not be happy if she sees them :(

Had a look at the portiere rods, look nifty not sure they will work. HHave a bit of a fight on with hubby at the minute - he is of the opinion that curtains don't block drafts (American, and he is used to having heaters that jet streams of hot air at him in winter and cold in summer... I think he's already forgotten how yukky last year was.
men.. honestly, they think they know everything! :rotfl:0 -

I am nice tenant and always have been. I treat the house as if I owned it and have excellent referencesBesides which, I've known this landlady for over 20 years and she got me out of a "homeless as of tomorrow with a partner & toddler" situation a few years back so I feel the best way to pay her back is to look after the place. I'm even having central heating fitted soon through WarmFront.

Hi all
hope your winter preparations are going to plan. Managed to get in the garden today to sort out the winter planting but still have LOADS to do!
I am going to go out after work tomorrow (payday!) to get some new pyjamas and some fleecy socks. I will also get a fleecy blanket to make the door snake for my front door.
Other than that I am pretty ready to get toasty- store cupboard and freezer stocked up, seeds all in for winter salad, coats dry cleaned ready for winter and my lovely angora gloves are now back in my winter coat pocket all ready.
I now only need to sort out christmas and I will be a happy bunny
Have a good day all xFeb GC: £200 Spent: £190.790
