Haven't seen anyone mention the good old hot water bottle. I take beta blockers for migraine so my tootsies are always cold and I love my hoggy. I am just crochetting a cover for it. Might be a good xmas gift, hoggy and cover !Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0 -

I bought the Delongi 10 ltre.
The one I bought last winter worked so well,I got the same this time round.
My friend has an Ebac (think that's right) it's very small and compact and a fraction of the price but it works realy well too.
Even though she has a large kitchen.0 -

My thick winter curtains arrived first thing this morning as promised by the ebay shop seller and they are great!
Can't wait to put them up in a couple of months time and see how much more heat they keep in
Might try lagging under the kitchen cupboards today as have a bit of a free day.
Have read the comments about a dehumidifier working to control the moisture in the bathroom as this is a big problem. Can't really afford one unfortunately so will keep an eye out for one that doesn't take up too much room and doesn't cost too much eitherfinal unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

I think there's a draught under mine too, also around the bath panel, there's a howling gale under the bathroom door despite it not having any windows!
What are you thinking of using? A friend has a transparent strip between the floor and the kickboard but I haven't seen that in the shops. I thought silicone might be a bit messy.

why not try asking for one on freecycle? i'm sure there are a few dusty ones lying about... you'd be amazed what you can get on freecycle, if i had a car i could do up an entire house from our local one and that's without actually asking for anything, just taking up offers!0 -

I am going to use old carrier bags and bubble wrap - I think I read it somewhere on this thread
The kick panels just pull away easily so if i give it a little sweep and fill back up with some plastic insulation of carriers and bubble wrap I'll see if it makes a difference in winter. I can feel the draft blowing from under there in the winter months.final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -

Ah I see. I was just going to seal the bit where the panel meets the floor. I'm not pulling them off, I dread to think what's behind there, mice - or worse, dead ones!!!
I'll try silicone or those tapes you can put along the edge of baths.

Well chimneys swept, coal/logs ordered, just got to redo the fire cement, find the last set of curtains, stock up on candles and get the bottling done. Must get a dehumidifier too, will have to read rest of thread for best buys. Not even thought about winter wardrobe - as I definatley need some new motorcycle gloves/heated handlebars for this winter.
Oh and Christmas to plan, though cant wait, blackberrying/sloes/crabapples/rosehips to pick and christmas puds and cakes to make bliss.0
