    Well so far have:
Put the autumn duvet on the bed.

Only the autumn one? We had ours on all "summer" and have used the winter one for weeks now. You must be hardier than us :rotfl:
  • Not hardier, just living in a warmer place I think!;) Last winter it never got cold enough to need the winter one, so we had the autumn one on right up to the summer.

We live in a mid terrace so are probably benefiting from our neighbours heating :D

I need to get slippers for the little hairys next as they are walking around barefoot at the moment, although noone is complaining they are cold

I wish someone would move in next door, its been empty for ages but last year we had people both sides who had their heating on constantly, loved it!
  • ladies - and chaps if the mood takes you - it really keeps you warm if you wear a second pair of pants over the tights!!!!!
  • Bought a hot water bottle with fleece cover from PDSA charity shop for £2.49.
Did a test drive on my sofa this afternoon.....was asleep within 10 mins!

    On my bed:
    mattress protector
    then a blanket
    then bottom sheet
then one of those holey 'hospital' type blankets
    then quilt
    then a throw.
Oh, I have a hot water bottle too.

Well....I guess I now know just who was benefitting regarding the heat going between neighbours. Have recently put silverfoil stuff behind the hallway radiator and - bingo - the house is visibly warmer. Looks like next door has been having the benefit of a lot of my heating:mad: ...I presume that mid-terrace houses about equal out as to who gets whose heating IYSWIM - I'd be helping to heat next door - but, in reverse, they would be helping to heat me up - so it would cancel out. Guess the fact its now noticeably warmer here means they keep their house colder than mine (hmmmm.....theres two of them paying that household fuel bill - but only me doing so in my house)

I miss living in a mid terrace - I'm in an end terrace now and the gable wall is north facing, and where my hall/stairs is and I don't have central heating. In the winter you can see you breath it can get that cold out there. Even with a curtain up over the front door its stupid! I remember last year we had condensation running down the walls  I've got that glazing film and I'm putting that up this year over the whole door not just the window. ;)
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

The back of my house is like that Nicki, although I'm in the mdidle of a terrace of cottages. It faces north and is baltic in winter...plus doesnt get the sun at all from oct to about march because of the hill. I never did get round to that double glazing film yet !!

Task for the day my dear....;) After reading your posts I've got visions of you sitting up on top of Ben Nevis with a couple of huskies and having just two seasons to your year - winter and Arctic Winter....well maybe summer for just one day in June if you're lucky:D
