I have the same problem in cold wind on my old pc I had a pic of a pattern for a hooded scarf which was made simply by folding a fleece scarf in half length ways then stitching one seam from the fold for about 6" to make a sort of hat with a scarf attached..does this make any sense??:rotfl:
I found a knitting pattern for a similar thingie

When I was a kid we used to have those scarves-knitted then a seam down one edge to make the bit to go on your head..the scarf to wrap around -then the ends folded up and sewn to make pockets for my podgy fists :rotfl:-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
I wonder whatever happened to my snoods  I was a child of the 80's lol:o

My grandma used to make these for all the grandkids. I'd forgotten the humiliation of them until now0 -

That's what a snood is.TOP MONEYSAVING TIP
Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!0 -
I thought a snood was one of those big hairnet thingamies...??

When you google them it does come up as a haircovering/net sort of thing but that was what we called them in the 80's.(The tube things)
I loved mine they were like a really loose knit mohair but so warm!:D
Maybe we should revive them :cool:0 -
Damart used to do thermal snoods, don't know if they still do.I've got a couple and they're lovely and warm.Must admit I only wear them when I go to Austria every Christmas,it gets so cold you dare'nt go out without something round your head and ears.Might get some funny looks if I wore them here.
I used to work for Damart and I have still got a good stock of thermals. You used to get a good discount and I loved the underwear so much I ended up with loads. The choice is'nt so good now and they are quite expensive I think.
I got my daughter a couple of sets (long sleeve top and long johns)in Primark and at £10 for both pieces thay are realy nice and the long johns are a good length.I think they're well worth it at that price.0
