NatWest charged me CHAPS for £99 Int transfer

Update on this fiasco.

I sent home £499 this weekend. £492 arrived in my Natwest current account. That's a £7 fee from Natwest and NO intermediary bank fee in sight.

I'm happy although miffed that they (Natwest/mystery intermediary bank) can charge £5 on £99 and £7 on £499.

I don't bank with Nat West but this seems similar to other banks charges for receiving money from abroad.
Up to £100 = £5 charge
Any amount over £100 = fixed fee of £7.

Exert from NatWest website: Payments up to £100 or currency equivalent are charged at £1.

They always are except for the last time which is why I ended up here in the first place. Anyhow, it's not worth taking any further. Thanks for all the help and replies. :beer:

You could change currency provider. I think TransferWise charges £1 per transaction for low amounts of money such as £99.
