Barclaycard slashing limits again.

Options
Just wondered if anyone else has had their limit reduced recently.

Received my statement on Thursday, and they have reduced my limit again to £260. This was originally £400, then £350. At the time of the last reduction they withdrew the cash advance facility. Not that this really bothered me, as I do not use it, but it could have come in handy in, for example, an overseas emergency.

Anyway, I only had a £109 balance, so phoned them up, said they obviously don't want my business and likewise I do not want to do business with them. Paid off my balance by debit card, and they account was closed in an hour! The first bit of excellent service from BC.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. Glad to be shot of them!

I know they get a regular credit score from Equifax and with their own internal score could be the reason why the credit limit has been slashed. However considering we are talking a few hundredm pounds limit I really dont understand their logic. I have two cards with them and one I have never used and has a limit of £5,500. Also the limit has never been touched. With the other card I have a limit now of £2,700 and I reduced that at my request as I have a life of balance transfer at 2.9% and seems pointless have a high limit on that card knowing it would never be touched.

Many posts on here about this. It is common, somewhat random, incredibly annoying and it seems that there is nothing we can do about it other than closing the account or reclaiming any charges.
