It's not often that I post threads on here, however this has really annoyed me.

Car stereo blew on Wednesday, we needed one ASAP (as I am on the road a lot and need to be able to take calls via Bluetooth to save pulling over)... Halfords seemed like my best bet.

Checked the website and BOTH the stereo and required fascia showing as "Collect in 1 hour" via Click & Collect on the Halfords Website. This was Wednesday night around 9 PM. I went through the checkout and received a confirmation email telling me that both the stereo and fascia are reserved/can be collected until Friday.

I turn up after work on Thursday to Halfords, to be handed the stereo and then told that the fascia will be in tomorrow and wasn't actually in stock, it was being delivered overnight and I could collect it tomorrow (Friday) and someone would call me tomorrow to confirm.

Okay, that's an inconvenience but not the end of the world, not sure why your website stated "collection in 1 hour" if you don't actually have it - but I didn't question this and left without a fuss.

Friday rolls around, no telephone call. I call them only to be told sorry fascia isn't here, usually takes a few days to arrive, will be Tuesday now due to the bank holiday.

Somewhat annoyed at this I questioned;

A) Why their website advises it can be reserved for collection in 1 hour if it isn't actually in stock and takes a few days to be delivered (how hard would it be to change this to "delivered to store within 3-5 days" - Argos do this I believe). Instead they choose to misguide customers.

B) Why I was advised yesterday that the item was being delivered overnight.

To which the person on the phone simply blamed the "website guys" and insisted they had been trying to get it changed for some time and that his colleague who I spoke to yesterday didn't know "what he was on about".

He then went on to say "it might not even be here on Tuesday... it depends on our supplier"

Oh bloody great halfords, so your website tells you things are in stock ready for collection when in reality they have to be ordered in taking several bloody days :mad:

Their website Click & Collect service is a crock of s**t.
