Booking a Package Holiday when already have a Villa

Hi all,

This may well be an obvious answer, but wanted to get some feedback.

A friend has offered his Villa to us for a week, leaving just the flights and car hire to sort out.

Having searched all over the web, flights alone are very expensive, cheapest I've seen is £650 for two of us.

So I've searched for cheap package holidays, one I found is an 18-30's. Same dates and airport for £420.

If I booked this and made the travel agent aware that we're not using the hotel or airport transfers, just the flights, can anyone see any major problems to doing this?

Perhaps this happens a lot, I have no idea, but would really appreciate some feedback, especially from anyone that's done it.

Regards

Jim

    Hi

You need to check the t&c's with the 18/30 holiday packages as some of them will not allow you to do it and you COULD have the situation that if you did it your return flight could be cancelled for you meaning that you would then need to pay a full air fare to return home.
As you say with most family package holidays many people {including myself in the past}let you do it but the 18/30 ones can have t&c's preventing you so check first before you go ahead.

I think you will be fine. It's not the travel agent you need to tell but as a courtesy, the reps at the arrival airport. That way they won't delay the coach transfers for others waiting on you. Similarly no problem for the return transfer coach.

    I disagree stephb34.

Whilst that might be the target audience there are no actual age restrictions in booking (or staying at) a Club 18-30 hotel. Besides which to OP is only intending to use the flights.

There didn't used to be restrictions, but I'm 99% sure they're the age brackets nowadays and if you're not 18 then you can't go on an all inclusive 18-30 package. The age restrictions were put in place because of older people moaning about the noise in the hotels and they didn't spend money like the youngsters. The fact the op only wants the flights is irrelevant.

Fairly sure that there is an age restriction as outlined above.
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

Have you checked the flight times associated with the package holiday? May not be worth the saving if you have to fly at stupid o'clock.

There is defo an age restriction. Daughter is going on a club 18-30 holiday tomorrow, and when booking was told its between the ages of 17-35.

Other than Api for your passport do they normally take the date of birth? As it's just an ordinary flight. Otherwise see what self catering accomodation there is with flights and go with the cheapest
