6 month solicitor delay

Hi All,
I instructed a solicitor mid Apr 15 to act on the transfer of equity of my property following separation from my partner, this also involved a re-mortgage.
Can anyone advise how long this should take, but also where i can see redress due to the solicitors dreadful handling of the case and delays.
Basically, I was initially told that completion would take circa 6 weeks, the solicitors who were recommended by the mortgage company, lloyds, are continually moving back completion dates, currently estimated October end 15.
:(If anything is missing from what they need or not quite right, they will make no attempt to contact myself or the mortgage company to resolve
:(They do not acknowledge any correspondence for at least 1 week, including correspondence from the mortgage company.
:(They have lied to both myself and the mortgage company about requests made, i.e stating emails had been sent but no actual proofs of emails have materialised.
:(They use a online case management tool, which they never use to respond to correspondence, only to push back estimated completion dates without reason
:(Due to the delay by the solicitor, the original mortgage offer expired, so I have had to get another mortgage offer.
The new mortgage offer is £297 a month cheaper, due to a better rate and as such, I am losing that advantage.
Any advice would be gratefully received.
