Defender or Avast Free

Did a trouble free ug to Win 10 and it seems to be running smoothly.

I had Avast free on Win 8.1 and the ug has defaulted to Defender.

What's the perceived wisdom about staying with Defender or is it best to reactivate Avast Free.

    I'll be interested to hear opinions too. I used to run MSE but noticed some periods of high CPU by it so moved to Avast which seemed to be lower overhead. When I upgraded to W10 I took the easy option of uninstalling Avast and leaving it to Defender. Earlier today I saw some high CPU usage by defender so I've just reinstalled Avast Free on one machine to see how that goes.

    Windows Defender, Microsoft EMET and SmartScreen are fine for me, since I don't download crackz and warez

    Best AV is disconnect left mouse button from activation finger, better yet swap mouse buttons via operating system and make the brain think "should I select accept?" . Now what was the original question?
