Ipod music transfer question

I have an ipod 20GB, and am thinking of buying a new one.

Will I have to put all the songs etc that is on my old one onto the new one directly from cd's, as I have downloaded most music and it's on my ipod.

Is there away to connect the two ipods and just transfer from 1 to the other that way?

Well you need itunes to transfer the music. If the music is on your iPod at some point it will have been on itunes.

Are you saying you put the music on the ipod then deleted it from itunes?

The point of itunes is that you keep the music on there.

If you have the music in iTunes, then simply attach your new ipod and put the music you want on to it. One itunes library can have multiple ipods.

There is no way to connect two ipods together.

Yes i have it all on Itunes, just wasnt sure that plugging another ipod in to transfer music from itunes would work.

You can even plug more than one iPod in simultaneously. This is 'non-supported behaviour' as far as Apple are concerned but it does seem to work OK.
