I had a credit card that I paid ppi on but I was fully covered with work benefits to cover repayments. My original claim was refused so I left it at that. This was about 2 years ago.
Yesterday I received a letter telling me that they have looked at it again and are sending me a sum not to be sniffed at.
Does this happen? I'm a bit suspicious, but they have all of the details of the card & dates correct.
I'm a bit scared they will change their minds. Can this happen?

Yes. They run checks on past cases and can change decisions.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

Thank you! I was worried they would tell me it was mine, pay it, then take it back. They said it will either go into my credit card account or a cheque. Hoping for a cheque.0

They put it to your card, they raise a cheque and take it back from the card (usually).
If you see it on your card, don't spend it.0 -

Yes it does happen. They won't change their minds about the offer once made. It has been known for them to discover some months down the line that the calculation was wrong, but if the money is in another bank account there's nothing they can do about it. I would ask for it to be sent by cheque.0
