Today, I have only spent £3 on car parking.
Mr tc treated me to coffee and cake. As we were leaving, they handed us a carrier bag of stuff and said they were closing for the day and it was only going to be thrown away. We thanked them profusely for their generosity. When we got home I had a look and inside there was : a large white bloomer loaf, 3 Danish pastries, 2 iced fingers and some scones. How lucky were we. How kind of them to give it to us. Bless their hearts :)

Yes, I can relate to that. :)
When we first started making overpayments on the mortgage, the lenders tried to adjust our monthly repayments - that totally defeated the object, so we had to ring them and tell them to keep the payments the same, no matter how much extra we paid off. :)

    Oh, yes, me too.

No.1 mistake - didn't ring them and get it changed, oh, how green was I, then.

Next time I o/p a large sum, I made sure they rang Hq and put a note on my account, that the payments had to stay the same no matter how much I overpaid. Got that one sorted.

Oh and watch out as they also divided my large o/p between the sub accounts, 1 with interest and 1 without interest, as I stated I only wanted the o/p to go to my main mortgage account - they told me they could not do this. Ha...Ha. Nonsence.

Now I just o/p online, and select the account I am o/p - which believe it or not, is not the one that does not have interest accumulating. (Sorry, a lot of "nots"), just like my name, he..he..

Tonight...we decided to either go out for dinner, go to cinema or watch a DVD at home. We went for the latter. So we went to the supermarket to choose a DVD and I had a card to buy too.
I took no list and £20 cash. I had a couple of vouchers in my bag too. I spent £10 on 2 DVDs, £1.50 on a card and then we went to look at the 'reduced' aisles. There were quite a few things of interest tonight. the total of the shopping was £18.25. I had £3.06 in vouchers, so I spent 15.19. I got over £24 worth of 'reduced' items for under £4 - including some steak and some pulled pork. :D today has been a most bargainous day. :j

Thanks jwil. I was really impressed. The fillet steak on its own should have been a tenner. :)
I'm planning a no spend day today. :)
