Somerfield taking over Kwik Save

I was in my local Kwiky the other day and noticed that it is changing to a Somerfield.
I remarked to the lady on the checkout that this was the end of another good local store with nice cheap prices; and she informed me that during a meeting for staff, the increase in prices concern was voiced by Kwik Save personnel, who were promptly told that Somerfield have 19 (nineteen) different pricing structures and would be ensuring that our local store will be maintaining the kwik save pricing policy.
With your wealth of knowledge and contacts,----can you discover whether or not this pricing policy exists, and if there is any way that we can collectively beat Somerfield into a general policy of affordable products?

Hate to spoil your fun, but Somerfield can't take over Kwik Save as they're already run by the same peopleMurphy's No More Pies Club #209

I was just going to say the same !0

Our local Kwik Save changed to Somerfield the other year, the prices went up a lot.0

For the more pedantic ones I apologise
I should have said re-branded
However that doesn't explain the 19 pricing bands0 -
A Kwik Save near us was rebranded, and I don't believe that the KS pricing structure was maintained.
I don't see why national retailers should charge uniform prices in all locations. They clearly have to face different costs (very different in some cases) and different competitive pressures.0 -
Some Kwik Save stores still exist.. https://www.kwiksave.co.uk not sure of their pricing structure though.
I miss the No Frills mince pies, best I've tasted from all the supermarket ones I've tried你是废纸!!!1110 -
So what are they going to do in my local town then we have both somerfield and kiwk save.
I only use both of them when they have something I want on special deals. As somerfield are way over priced. And kwik save I don't really like to small.
Only other choice is sainsburys. And all of them shut at 8pm as well
So I travel 7 miles to go to a 24 hour Tescos. As i can go when I want.

we used to get flyers in the local paper for somerfield, when there wasn't one for miles.
they were just too lazy to print them as kwiksave ones i assume!'What's poignancy grandad?'

When our local Kwiksave was taken over by Somerfield it was run down within months, it went from a busy store with an attached butcher and greengrocer with a lovely little cafe to something resembling an abandoned aircraft hanger. And then closed down shortly after that.
It was a very strange situation as our nearest Somerfield is in the next townOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Hi,
I work for somerfield but am not a manager so not too sure on the pricing structures.
Afaik when i watched the training videos about 2years back, it said there are 3 different Pricing Tiers. But this may well have changed. I know the one i work in is heavily expensive compared to some others.
