Ebay problem

My buyer of item took from close of auction (Sunday 16th Aug) to Saturday 22nd Aug to pay the £1.04 for the item. It was posted on Saturday 22nd with proof of posting.
I have now received a non delivery notification
I am on holiday from 4am Tuesday and will not be back before a response is due.
Do I refund without quibble?
Feel a bit peed off as I think I should have been notified earlier about non receipt, particularly on a holiday weekend.
I cannot do much about it now.

People complain about getting item not received cases too soon, sound like the person gave it time to arrive before complaining, Why cant you respond now? however without tracking number you'll have to refund anyway

How soon do you expect them to complain? You sent it Saturday, next working day is the Monday. It probably didn't go anywhere on Saturday. So 5 working days until today, 6 if you include today. That's not very long even if you sent first class as that takes a day or two. If you sent second class or by courier then it can take 3 or 4 days (even 5).

As above, without a tracking number you'll have to refund anyway.

4am Tuesday? Reply now, or tomorrow, or Monday.......but either way you need to refund before they escalate unless you have tracking showing delivery.
