Dormering Chalet Bungalow - count as a loft extension or house extension???

I have a chalet bungalow so it has a bedroom upstairs, not in the *loft* (there is a small loft above), but it is still under the roof, if that makes sense so it kinda looks like it's in the loft. (Sorry i'm sure you know what a chalet bungalow is).

I'm looking at getting permitted development to put a side dormer on the bedroom.

However as it's techincally within the roof I'm not sure if that counts as a loft extension thing or if it counts as being part of the main building.

I'm asking because the permitted development guidance has different "classes" for house extension, loft extensions, roof work etc. Very confusing! Any help appreciated
