Before i throw this chair at the computer screen , can someone give me some advice ?
I've got a blueyonder email address and for months now (it feels like years) i've been having trouble logging on. Virgin are very nice about it, they have things all over the Internet saying ............. sorry we're working on it. Some days it's fine but then i can't log on the next.
I know it'll be easy to go and open a new email somewhere else and start using that, but what about all my stuff on blueyonder, if i ever get on again how easy will it be to transfer ?
Are others having the same problem ?

Looking at the Virgin Media forums it seems there are other Blueyonder email address holders who are having various problems ever since VM commenced the migration of BY accounts from Google's GMail platform to their own new webmail platform.
I have two @virgin.net email addresses and one @virginmedia.com and thankfully they haven't, as far as I know, started porting any of those across yet. I just hope they get this fiasco and the new webmail system sorted out properly before they do, but I'm not hopeful.
Ever since Virgin Media were taken over by Liberty Global it's been a downhill service for many users.... DaveHappily retired and enjoying my 14th year of leisureI am cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.Bring me sunshine in your smile0 -
Why not register a domain name, then (in future) you can switch between email providers without needing to give out a new email address.
1&1 offer domains for £3.49 a year, and the first year for 99p, so it's not expensive.0 -
I've been using a blueyonder email address with Outlook since (at least) as far back as February 2005, and have the emails to prove it! Within the last three weeks my blueyonder email has been transferred to the new Virgin-Media-only platform (from being hosted by Gmail), with some of the minor problems which the various VM forums have discussed exhaustively.
You don't give enough detail for me to be able to say very much helpful, so my questions would start:
* are your problems with webmail, or POP3-downloaded email, or both?
* if POP3, what email client are you using: Thunderbird? Outlook? something else?
* have you been through the relevant VM article which tells what settings to make in your specific email client?
* what error message(s) do you get when you cannot sign on?
That should be a good start!0
