Morrisons-do they pay sick benefit?

I have a friend who works at Morrisons
She has recently been off sick and the company are saying they haven't got to pay her any sick pay.
She asked me for advice but I haven't a clue with benefits these days. I have looked at .gov but it's like reading rocket science.
Morrisons mentioned something about contributions, which I presume means she hasn't paid national insurance perhaps but very confused.
But the .gov site seems to be stating that Morrisons have to pay her as she earns more than £112 per week.
Can someone explain what happens when you are sick in basic detail please?

Morrisons are dodgy like this. They employ "personnel" managers in most stores that are like little hitlers with nothing else in their lives other than work. They will always try and worm away from paying correct sick pay.
Your friend needs to read the employee handbook as it has details on sick pay. You get full if you have worked over 3 years for the company.0
