Dvd camcorder

Options
I am going to buy one soon, but would rather get some advice first.
I am a 3? yr old mum who just wants to record my son playing rugby and general day to day life of my kids. I am not technical and just want to buy a good one. I have about £250 to spend but willing to go a little more if it means I get a decent one, from good advice. I would appreciate any advice as i know absolutely nothing about them. By the way, as its a dvd recorder, do you just take the disc out and put it straight into your dvd player and watch?

Thanks for any advice

I'm going to bump this as I came here with a similar question today :)

I want to buy a good, but not too pricy, digital (not tape) video camera (ie, one I can download to the PC as I do with the stills camera). I have no idea how they work, what the various terms etc are - I mean, do they have different memory formats like digital cameras, or is it a totally different ball game?

An idea of what to look for in a camera, as much as specific recommendations, would be useful.

    :)

Don't think you will need to go as high as 250 from looking at these two:

Might be worth looking for some more reviews though.

Yeh the DVD one's you can just take the disk out and play it in a DVD player.

The one ive used uses MiniDV tapes, which are also digital (i think?) and I transferred onto PC, the quality was awesome.
