            I've been told that it happens quite often that a swan will end up on the road like that. Apparently when they are flying they see the grey road from a distance and it looks like water or a lake and they come down to land on it (maybe also they haven't got good vision?)0

            But according to the tv programmes about RSPCA work, they send out a whole team of people to rescue ( or rather, remove as he probably wanted to be there) a hamster from a drainpipe.0

 Otherwise, as some friends, who reported ill treated horses (skeletal, standing in hoof-deep mud, the only water in puddles and no sign of food), found, they give cruelty offenders plenty of notice, so they can hide the evidence and there's no case to pursue.0
