postal comps...worth the time?

Options
just wondering how many of you out there enter postal comps on a regular basis and what is the win to entry ratio like?

So far this year - no wins, was questioning it myself but I've read plenty say they bear fruit.

Always question whether my entries 1. get there, 2. are accepted. How many entries do people make?

Will keep going but so far it's not been a good run.

    cash/various prizes etc
& am very grateful to the ops who post them as
they take a lot of time & effort to type out & post up :T

    .

One unless it's something like itv which specifies multiple entries are allowed. Given the price of stamps I wouldn't want to waste them on entries which may not count.

  • I've never won on a postcard comp but these are the ones with the prizes I remember best with the prizes I dream about longest and I agree about less multiple entries due to the price of stamps.

At one stage Hearst magazines were getting 670,000 postal entries per year (almost 13,000 a week) so quite a few people still bother with them.

  • I always hand write mine. I don't know how many other Compers do this but if I take my time all letters are readable to me and it must be for Inside Soap. All three prizes I have won have been with Inside soap. I have also won two £100 with this company so I am lucky with them.

Are the cash prizes not won via email entry as that's how they get posted on mse only ever see the book/cd/dvd comps in the postal section

  • So do people actually enter the ITV comps 37 times? That's about £25 in stamps per comp or significantly more in texts.
