Car Insurance Postcodes

I've just obtained quotes for car insurance. I move next week from SW13 to SW6, some 2.9miles. The quotes are 50% higher. I am quite shocked as they are similar areas, though SW13 is south of the river Thames and SW6 is North.
I wondered if anyone has had similar experience or had any advice to obtain cheaper quotes.
thanks

A move in one street in London can make a massive difference. A full postcode change especially so.
South of the river is not similar to the North. Any Londoner can tell you that.I am quite shocked as they are similar areas, though SW13 is south of the river Thames and SW6 is North.

According to this report SW13 (Barnes, Richmond upon Thames) is one of the cheapest London postcodes for car insurance.

South london is where all the debauchery happens as its outside the old City limits
Have seen much worse happen where neighbours can have massive differences because one house is in RH1 and technically in Redhill where as next door is in RH2 and so in Reigate. Not only makes a big difference in car insurance but home insurance, house prices, rents etc0 -

Ha ha. Yes we shall miss the debauchery that when we move!
Yes, I am yet to get the home insurance quotes. Hoping moving from ground to 4th floor may help offset......0 -
