Hi,
I am looking at moving my supplier away from SSE Atlantic and Zog seems like a good option for gas supplier.

I just wondered what the current (ha!) recommendation would be for electricity only suppliers?
I am in the CH postcode area.

Thanks

Put your annual consumption (in kWh per year) into an energy comparison site and it will provide you with information on the best deal available in your area for your projected consumption. There is no single supplier that is a best deal for every electricity consumer in the country. The 'theenenergyshop.com' website is a very easy site to use. You can always switch via a cash back site if you so wish.

Put your annual usage in kWh into a comparison site like uSwitch, and see what they suggest. Then filter out the suppliers with current lousy reputations and/or look for feedback for the others on here.
Consider cashback options as well. It's likely to be small for electricity only, so just see it as a bonus if you get one.

Best and cheapest are two entirely different things. Any comp site will tell you the cheapest tariff in seconds-it won't tell you who is 'best', however you define that.

Exactly, which is why I asked for any recommendations from personal experience

But you don't define 'best'. If you want better customer service, almost any non-Big Six company will be better, since it's the Big Six who invariably all come bottom in consumer surveys. At the other end, smaller providers such as Ecotricity and Ovo offer a much better and more personalised service, but at a higher price. It all depends if you are willing to pay a higher rate for such service-most of us are not.
Of the Big Six, I'd suggest EDF or E.on. I've also experienced BG and SP and they were poor. Can't comment on SSE or NPower.

Ecotricity is most certainly not one of the cheaper suppliers but Ovo is my top 5 for fixed deals. Sadly, all suppliers have issues from time to time. I got fed up with E.oN's method of calculating DDS, and I returned to Ovo. Ovo failed to initiate my gas switch for 75 days. Choosing an energy supplier is very much down to personal choice.

Have a look at Spark Energy, or possibly nPower :)
