Excel help - copying subtotals only?

Is it possible to copy and paste subtotals in excel? I need to pick a sample from a huge list of subtotals, and it would make my life much easier if I could simply move the totals to a new sheet.
I've played around for a while but can't find how to do it. Surely it's possible?
Thanks

It sure is possible... in the place you want to paste to, goto Edit -> Paste Special and select "Values". This should copy only the totals.
Good luck!0 -
cut and paste will take the formula linking the cells back to the original sheet0

If you go to View/toolbars/customize
Click on the commands tab then the edit icons. One of the icons looks like four squares and is titles "Select visible cells" drag this to a menu bar
Set the subtotals so that only the totals you want to copy are visible, click the icon above, then copy, paste.
Hope this helps (and that I have explained it OK!)

if you want the numbers on the new sheet to update as the originals change then:
select new cell
type =
navigate to original page
click on cell
press return0 -
Thanks everyone,
I've managed to do what I needed by simply doing copy, paste special then a load of sorting and deleting irrelevant cells. I'm sure all the different advice will be very helpful in the future, esp. rumplestiltskin's - i was sure there must be some way to do that!
Cheers
