New driving license - wrong country of birth

Hello!

I recently lost my driving license, so applied for a new one through the DVLA website.

It arrived today, an updated style to my old one - it now has a UK flag on it, has a hologram of my photo on the back, the card feels much thinner and worse quality, layout is generally a bit different - that's beside the point.

I was born in Japan, and my new license says 'United Kingdom' for place of birth where it previously said Japan.

I'm caucasian with British parents and I've lived in UK for nearly all my life, but my parents had a brief stint in Japan when I was born, so it was always a bit weird saying 'Japan' on it before - I've even had a bouncer suspiciously ask me why it said Japan on it.

Is it worth speaking to the DVLA about it? For the record, I filled out the form online, it didn't ask me any personal info other than my home address and driving license number. It's probably not a big deal, but just thought I'd double check?

I'd be sending it straight back for it to be corrected.

Having incorrect details on any ID document is a recipe for disaster.

I travel abroad frequently and having a driving licence and passport with differing information would likely be a reason for a load of time-wasting questions.

Incidentally there is nothing 'weird' about being born outside the UK.
