fiat punte grande key reprogramming cost???!!

Hey Guys

Just after some advice

my son went to use his car the other day and the engine would not start.

long story short, the mechanic seems to think the coding has gone in the master key (may have dropped it a few times or something) as the car turns on the electrics, but the key warning light sign comes up.

I've phoned around a few places, some say the wont do it as fiat coding is pretty complex, another expert swears blind its the battery. anyway just trying to figure out if you guys can recommend anyone in the south london area & how much we should be expecting to pay?

They used to say check you get the master key when buying a second hand punto. Often cost more than the car was worth to get a new master. Good luck.

The old red master key (lose it, replace ECU) was dispensed with well over a decade ago.
