Just to be clear - I wasn't offering to list them, just wondered if you wanted me to....

Pedantic !!!!!!, I'd laugh if the stress allowed me to feel any type of emotion other than deep deep pessimism.

Our local school wouldn't accept the application until we had completed.

I hope that's not the case as we hope to complete on the first day the kids go back.

We had to send them our council tax bill as proof.

I drove a 60 mile school run for 3 weeks until my daughter got her place .
I suppose it was an unrealistic drive then my daughter would of had extra time at home.

Oh dear, we're looking at a 50 mile round trip twice a day if they insist on something like that. Our solicitor has agreed to provide a letter confirming exchange when it's done so fingers crossed that will suffice.

The local authority won't accept your application until you have completed. If you speak to the school directly and they have spaces then you should be ok. Just keep the kids at home until they have their place. You won't get any bad marks if they have no school place to be truant from.

The problem is they both have places in the authority we are in now so I'm stuck between the two.

If I don't send them here I could get fined (and most likely will) but that involves not only potentially weeks of driving a hundred miles a day but pulling them out just weeks after they have started.

This is why we tried so hard to complete during the six weeks but alas, it was not to be. :(

Fines are at the school's discretion. You're not talking about taking a cheeky cheap holiday here, I would be very surprised if the school fined in this sort of instance. Have you spoken to the head? I would send an email in now to explain what's going on. I assume they are aware anyway, as you expected them not to return after summer already.

What makes you think it would be weeks? If you move in the first day of term it wouldn't take that long to get sorted out.

You are indeed correct, I'll speak to both local authorities tomorrow to try and find the best course of action.
