Yeah if you avoid DWP/JSA/HB/CTR, you can do 10 years unemployment if you want, its off your own back.
Why would putting up with the DWP mean one will be unemployed for 10 years? Are you saying claimants get some kind of privilege over non DWP sponsored jobseekers which give them a better chance?
I don't think so .... m80 -

Well you seem to be missing the point.
You can be unemployed for 80 years. As long as you are self sufficient. If not then you play the pipers tune. You think the OP is self sufficient?0 -

Thank you for reiterating that for me, hopefully the gentleman will now understand the point i was getting accross.0 -
Disappointingly, I also have to sign in every day to get paid. We call it "work".0

I don't wish to burst your bubble. The CWP/MWA the OP has been placed on has rigorous rules. If the OP prior to joining the CWP/MWA was already volunteering, this would count towards the forty hours a week. Ten hours of the forty hours a week is attended at jobclub. The OP signed up with a provider say for example SEETEC who then have to find the OP a work placement within twenty one days. The OP would have to attend the placement the provider arranged and not one of his choosing. Many of the large charities in this country refuse to work with these CWP/MWA providers simply because they make the most vulnerable people in society destitute. So you did moan to the placement people - it's no wonder they sent you home.
You need to start being more proactive. You could have avoided all this by arranging your own placement. If the Jobcentre see more evidence of you proactively seeking working then they are likely to be more flexible with you.
They're not punishing you, they just want you to find work.
Falsified FTA's are a common factor with these providers. The blessing the OP has is he has now been referred to the JCP daily. Being with the JCP OP it's decreasing your chance of being unlawfully sanctioned. Make sure you attend on time, everytime. This will last twelve weeks. You will be reimburst all your travel costs and ask to be fast tracked to people like the NCS. By involving yourself with the NCS you will not be seeing your JCP adviser everyday.
If you need further assistance OP contact the people who will help you http://www.boycottworkfare.org/0 -
In all fairness - it is one thing to be commuting to work daily and being paid for the work done accordingly and quite another to be going to a JC every day for the mere £80.00 or whatever i is per week. I really would compare the 2 scenarios.
My current role, for the first 2 weeks I was commuting 2 hours to work and well over 3 on the way back home after work. Now found a Mon-Fri room that cost the same as commuting did and come home for the weekends.
BUT - this is a paid job not some sign on thing. Nobody should sign on every day or work for free when paid jobs could/should be created,0 -

Its also one thing to be unemployed for a relatively short period of time and being out of work for half a decade.
Also remember this commute only costs time. The travel costs are paid for.
paid jobs should be created? Sorry but nobody who is in reasonable health should struggle to find at job in 5 years.0 -

Well, I for one did and I know many others... After having had a good job I was rather choosy about what I would consider, and suddenly I had been out of work for a long time and had great difficulty getting anything.0 -

So you see the issue right away.0 -
I do think, what if i lost my job and had to do some form of warehouse job.... I'd do it but i wouldnt be happy about it and id be constantly looking for a way out and I'd get out of it eventually.
Never nice to do a job that is less skilled than a previous but sometimes we just have to do it. Id rather that and at least have some money to play with.0
