Parking eye problem

hi hope this is right place i received a letter today addressed to myself .. but inside was a parking fine for a family member (they live elsewhere but same surname ) ... I don't drive or have a licence . i tried ringing the number only to find it was an automated number but after searching on internet found a customer service number.

so i ring them and am told that they couldnt discuss the account as it was for a family member so fair enough .. i asked them how they got my address ... i'm not on electoral roll yet as ive only recently moved in ... they weren't able to tell me unless the person of the account was there ... so i said why are you writing to me when you have their address on the parking fine notice ... again couldn't tell me as i wasn't the account holder ... so i asked can you remove me from your system and they said i have to write in and send proof of my address and id confirming i'm not the named person ...they told me they'd received a letter from the named person address at the beginning of the phone call so they know that persons address ... so when i asked why are your writing to me he changed his story and said they couldn't find the named person


now not being funny i dont fancy sendng anything to a company who i have never heard of .. or can't be bothered to put there actual number on there letters ...


but id like to know how they got my address that seems a bit suspicious to me

There are lots of ways that they can get your address, I should not be too concerned about it. .

tell your family friend that they need to check where the car is registered (address) .... and point them at this forum ..........
