Book Folding?

Hello,
I am a newbie to book folding but I love it!! And have decided that for Christmas I'm gonna make people their own personalized folded book
I know some people don't like the idea of book folding and I'm sorry if it offends you, but I get the books from charity shops or ones I've read so the money is going to a good cause, it's recycling, fun and costs very little.
Was just wondering if anyone else on here does a bit of book folding?

I saw one of these recently and I thought it was rather amazing. I couldn't make something like that I wouldn't have the patience!

They do take a long time but I think the end result is worth it
Only made one for a Christmas present so far (made another but I didn't like it so had to "un-fold")

I have discovered this craft recently and had a go with an old cook book making a heart design. I was thinking of doing some for Christmas but can't find many free patterns so may have to bit the bullet and buy one or two.

I came across book folding by pure chance and have done a heart and the word dream. The word one was wierd as I thought it was random folding and could not really make the letters out properly until more than halfway through!

I have not had much luck finding free patterns but have come across tutorials where you can learn how to make your own. I have debated about buying one or two but need to find some books with more pages in first!

I get a lot of my patterns on FB there are two groups I'm a member of "The Bookfolders Covern" and "Newbie Bookfolders and Designers" (think thats what's it's called) but they are really good and all the people on them are really nice managed to get a few free patterns in the groups files and the people that sell them do a you a really good deal

I've done a couple of the free patterns I found googling. A heart and a heart In a heart. Was really pleased with the results and have already given a coup,e away as gifts, the recipients were very pleased with them.
