Sneaky Churchill renewal

Just a little warning if you have car insurance with Churchill.
I thought my car insurance was due for renewal next moth but it appears to have been this month. I just got through the mail my new insurance docs for both my cars (seperate policies) with letters thanking me for renewing with churchill. I have not recieved any renewal quotes from Churchill for either car so did not have a chance to search for a cheaper quote.
I could understand one renewal quote going missing in the post, but both !
Seems to me that they did not send a renewal quote out. As it stands I will not bother argueing with Churchill about this because doing a search now brings them in second cheapest (only ~£5 difference and no hassle with NCD proof etc).

So in other words their "sneaky process" has prevented you from driving without insurance and getting points/fines etc?
I'm sure if you speak to them they can confirm what date the notices were sent and if they were sent by email or paper. What UK Mail or Royal Mail or your ISP or your household does with them is outside of their control0 -
Nope, I would not have been driving uninsured as I always have auto renewal selected in case something odd happens.
Normally I get my renewal quote through and then get other quotes. I usually change insurer every year as the renewal quotes tend to be quite expensive compared to changing insurer, oddly this year Churchill have been very competitive with their renewal figure and so I would have stayed with them anyway.
All I am pointing out is that I was denied the chance to look around for a better deal prior to renewing. I have not had any problem with mail disappearing in the past so I would be very surprised to find 2 letters from the same company failing to arrive especially when the 2 new certificates arrived okay. No emails from them in my spam filter or in my email addresses (only person with access to them and I don't think that Churchill have my email address).0 -
Have you asked them for copies of the renewal letters?
Were this their normal way of working, the forum would be full of complaints - though at the end of the day it's down to you to know when your renewals are due!0 -
Should have made a note somewhere when its due, not helpful for this years renewal but for next year you can action it now.0
