Extended Warranty Cover

Well, the warranty did not cover it as such - they gave me £50 off for suggesting that the fact that they serviced the car 6 months ago and the car had broken, was not filling me with confidence about their servicing. They also updated the ECU which seems to have improved acceleration quite considerably (I had enquired about turbo lag, prior to the split pipe issue).

Anyway, the car is all good now and it cost £157 which is not bad considering the extra work done - I doubt independent dealers would do the extras for free. Also, I have taken the car in quite a few times to have them diagnose issues and they never charge anything despite spending a bit of time on it (they phone me after test driving and ask me what else to check, for example). Once they spent hours taking a door apart to look at a child lock. This was not on the warranty (the lock), but they could not get the part in for a week so put it back together again. They charged nothing for the labour, then when I got it fixed the following week they only charged for the part as a thank you for being patient when they could not sort it first time. I know other garages would have stiffed me twice.

The acceleration/turbo lag that I reported was not considered an issue by them previously (it was not a big problem for me either), but that they fixed it for free makes me only continue my appreciation of their customer service.

I certainly think it is worth sticking with a good garage if you continually have a good experience with them (I have had many bad ones in the past).
