I was wondering if anyone has tried Aldi's non-bio soap powder? At the moment I use a smallish amount of Persil non-bio liquid along with soda crystals in the drawer and I sometimes use soap nuts for dark clothes. The Aldi stuff is so much cheaper and I've never been a soap powder expert/snob, as long as it does the job.

I've been using it for a while now mixed with soda crystals. I have sensitive skin (can't use the non- bio as it makes my skin itch like mad) and haven't had any problems with it. SIL also uses it with no probs.Books - the original virtual reality.

I bought the Aldi soap powder and I had problems with it just clumping up in the drawer when it got wet and not going in to the wash. do you have that problem? ended up having to rinse the drawer each time to make sure the soap went in.x x x0

I think it costs around £2.30, comes in a blue box, possibly called Almat and says it does 30 washes on the box. I think I'll buy a box anyway and let you know how I get on.

We use the 2-in-1 Aldi bio washing powder with aloe vera and it's fine. Have also used the normal bio and non-bio from Aldi in the past and been happy with them too. My boyfriend even commented on how nice the washing smelled compared to before, when were using some form of Tesco powder.
I did find to start off with that the powder didn't rinse completely butI just use less now and that seems to have sorted it; the washing still gets clean. Of course, it could also just be due to our machine and not the powder...0 -
I used it for a while and thought it was really good, but had to stop using it cos it made us all itch.0

the kind of water you have can make a big difference to your washing power requirements. My water is very soft and so it makes for a very soapy wash which doesn't rinse out easily, so I use less powder. I think its the soda crystals that help to soften the water in "hard areas" and so allow you to use less powder. So if you've got hard water ,use less powder with soda crystals and if you've got soft water try a different powder as you can use a lot less than recommended anyway.earn what you can, save what you can, give what you can :hello:0

Just a quick update.
I bought a box of 48 Almat non-bio washing tablets from Aldi for £2.79 on Monday and so far I'm impressed. I've only been using 1 tablet for each load and it washes well, so that will be 48 washes for £2.79 instead of 30 washes using the persil non-bio liquid which costs about £3.30ish.0 -
Sorry to jump in on this thread, but I have just started to add soda crystals to my wash to reduce the amount of washing powder required. But I am not entirely sure how much I should be using. Any suggestions please? : ).....0
