Paying off a credit card balance.

Hello. I have the opportunity to pay off three credit card balances. I have always paid my minimum monthly payments on time and I have a very good credit score. Is it worth asking the credit card companies if they would take a lower settlement figure or would they not do a deal as I'm not regarded as a risk.
Thanks. X

No. You would need to start missing payments and trash your credit file first.

The time to ask for a discount was when buying things.

Settlement figures are for those that are financially distressed and are offered on the basis that it is better for the financial institution to achieve a lump sum than collect very small payments over an extended time period.

Unless you are in financial trouble there is no chance of them allowing you to pay only part of what you owe.
