Santander ATM charge UK

I just checked my bank statement and noticed I was charged £3 to withdraw cash from the local Santander ATM.
I thought cash withdrawals were free between UK bank accounts.
Or have Lloyds and Santander had a falling out?

No bank has ATM charges, Only private ATM companies. Unless it was a credit card they might apply a charge or something... What bank are you with? Lloyds I take it?0 -

Which ATM was it? What type of card, from which provider, did you make the withdrawal with?
What did the ATM operator say when you asked them why you got charged?0 -
Are you sure you haven't withdrawn cash from a credit card instead? £3 is a common minimum charge for that service.0
