CCTV advice

hope I have posted on the correct board. please move if not.
I have decided to have CCTV installed externally around my home.
I am not sure though which is the best system,
I want wired but not sure whether motion sensor activated to record or a loop constantly recording system is better.
I have had a few installers out but they all have different opinions..
I would have thought motion activated would save trawling through hours of recordings if there has been any uninvited on my property. but some installers say not.
anyone with experience can you help please

  • You can buy IP cameras with motion sensors and they'll record sound as well. With some powerline adaptors you won't need any extra cables and use a NAS or a PC for storage. I'd guess that would be your best option.
