Hi all,
Can anyone please tell me what the black plastic part of the window is called, as shown in the attached picture? I have a broken one to replace and I can not find the part name. I think it may be a keep of some type!?
Many thanks for your help.

I would have called it an angle bracket or keep block or similar. However, what I normally do is try to find a part number usually embedded in the part and stick that in Uncle Google0

Perhaps take the photo you've shown here to a double glazing firm and ask them? Then look up on t'internet for a cheap part!!0

They're called keepers or keeps.0

When putting upvc window keeps into google, the first item listed contains this:Finding a matching keep for a Upvc Door or Window
It’s oftenimpossible to find an exact match as keeps are a profile related part, which will of been made to fit a specific profile at point of manufacture.
Over the years profile companies have a vested interest in updating and changing the shape of the products every few years to meet new demands and standards.
Once this happens the shape of the keep become discontinued, as the requirement for them is gone.
To this end the only option is to modify a keep which is a close match, or modify the profile Upvc to suit. You can normally do this relatively easy by either removing some of the Upvc up stand with a sharp wood chisel or Stanley knife. Alternatively you may need to create a bit of a shim / packer to put underneath the keep to give it a flat bed to sit on. Once you do this screw it firmly in place and you should have a trouble free installation.
To summarise, you may have difficulty finding exactly what you want.
If you know who originally sold the windows, maybe contacting them would help.0 -
Thanks all, I thought it was going to be a bit of a minefield as my research didnt get me very far! The windows were with our newbuild house so we dont know where they were from and there is no part number on that part. Will try and contact a double glazing firm.0
