'Free Hotel Night'. with my car insurance, a catch, etc?

Just been offered 'a free night in a hotel' from my car insurer(or 10 free car washes) as a 'gift' It does seem to be in partnership with a promotions company, but cant see any catch: no obligation to book another night or buy food, etc. Any similar experiences?, my insurance is quite expensive.

There isnt really a catch, which hotels you can stay in, what dates you can use it on etc are all probably fairly limited and so if you can ever actually use it or not

If you google, you will find a couple of companies that simply give away a free night to absolutely anyone, no need to do anything other than give them your details.

The Churchill offer, is that the one you've got? Is done by one of these companies that simply give them away to anyone even without buying insurance.

The offer usually requires the purchase of dinner and breakfast, what you are doing is giving the hotel income for rooms that would otherwise be empty. It costs them the cost of clean sheets (I hope!) but very little else. The hotel will only offer the rooms when they are certain they couldn't fill them otherwise, so no peak periods, no bank holidays or special events

It doesnt require dinner, see https://onenightfree.co.uk/ Direct Line Group seem to be into in a fairly big way as they are using it for a number of classes of insurance like Churchill Motor or DL Travel.

On the basis the original post has been put on a load of forums I'd guess its their marketing team that are trying to highlight it too but it'd have been better off in Insurance than on UK Holidays.

I work in a hotel group and we take these on certain nights and times of the year. With the scheme we have, we get paid a nominal amount by the promoter, and there is no requirement to purchase food and drink
