APCOA incorrect car reg entered in machine

Hi,
I have been issued a parking fine by APCOA after parking at a train station. The machine made you type your car reg in for the ticket. I entered by car reg forgetting I was in my husbands car!! I still have the parking ticket that showed I paid for the time I was parked, and obviously they will see that the car reg I entered was not there at the time. My question is, should I send a letter explaining the situation with a copy of the ticket, or should I go down the route of sending the letter template in the newbie thread?

Follow the newbie thread advice.
Don't reveal who the driver was, but add in to your appeal that the driver did obtain a ticket but made an error inputting the details, and submit a copy.
Won't make any difference at this stage but may come in useful later on in the game.0
