Solid Oak flooring in B&Q

Options
HI
I have been in B&Q today and seen some solid oak flooring, 18mm thick and I think 150mm wide, definately wider than most.
It is really nice but I don't know if it is a good price.
It has 20% off at the moment and is £27.** a square metre, my mum or dad could also get me an extra 10% on Wednesday (pensioners day).
What do people think of the price. I know some people have got theres from Howdens, can anyone tell me the price they got it from there, I would pay what the builder gets it for as I know him.
I don't know if Howdens is as thick as this, the pieces are not that long which I also like.

Your thoughts please.

Jules

Howdens should come in under £25psm for you. Price will vary as you need to barter :o

It's sturdy, 120mm wide boards, varying lengths, beautiful colour. Far better than anything else I have seen at that price point. I don't buy any old tat! Theoretically spekaing, the longer the board, the more expensive it is.

I have read some of your other threads about you getting it from Howdens. I will ring tomorrow and find out the price.
I do really like the stuff in B&Q due to the wideness and colour. Some of the thinner stuff they had was ok but didn't turn my head.
I didn't think with getting 30% off after the 20% and 10% from pensioners day it was that bad after having a look on the internet at prices, I would also want to see it first.
My head is so full, I am trying to sort the whole of the house, I have chosen and paid for the kitchen, paid for the toilet and bath, seen the sink I want and ordering today but there is so much to do.
I looked at a place called Artisan yesterday for a fire and saw a really long and slim one that looked different to any that I have seen in others houses, forgot to look at the price so will have to go back, bet it will be a pretty fortune.
Any ideas appreciated. I have a kitchen, lounge, three bedrooms, one which my dad is making into a wardrobe (only small) and a very small bathroom, time to look at wall and floor tiles today.
My mum is also trying to get me to have a conservatory/lean to on the outside so that I can accomodate a table.

From my experience, Howdens is trade only...

The B&Q deal sounds pretty good to me - you will however have to factor in costs for fitting, as it's a reasonably specialised job.

From my experience, Howdens aren't that picky either.

You only need to to tell them that you are renovating a house.
