Thailand Help!

Left a post earlier - no response so I thought I'd try again, apologies tothe purists!
My wife and I are planning a (10 year) late honeymoon to Thailand but are struggling a bit with who to book with, some of the deals seem a bit too good to be true and all that. I was hoping that someone may know or have used a good online site for booking a trip to Thailand or be able to offer any advice on where to go. We were thinking of Samui?

Thailand is magical -you won't regret going, fantastic place!

I went last October - 3 nights in Bangkok and 10 in Phuket. Went with Emirates from Glasgow, and stayed in what was classed as 3 star hotels but I've stayed in UK 4 star that weren't as good as these.

Bought the trip through Travelmood.com, £780 each - this included the international and internal flights, B&B, transfers and a local rep (who were excellent, lots of local knowledge and helped with trips, car hire etc).

My only regret was not having 3 weeks + there!

Let's try to make it more fun. Find a package within your budget and of which you like the look and we will let you know what we think and if possible, find better alternatives. :)

Your remit as it is, happens to be too wide. There's no budget, date of departure or duration. Get it together. No wonder you're ten years too late. ;)

So, get started and post a link to your favourite package, with accompanying details. Alternatively, describe your perfect holiday.

There are loads of nice places to stay that are too small to be part of package holidays. So look for cheap flights. Remember that you will be knackered after a long flight, so book somewhere comfortable close to the airport for your first night, on an outfit like Asia Rooms.

The next morning, just go off to somewhere beautiful. Local low-cost airlines are just that, particularly if you book in advance. Or you can take a train or public bus to the coast, and then a boat to the island of your choice. Last time I did that, we went to the island of Koh Samet (near Pattaya), just walked around until we found a cottage that we liked, and spend a week enjoying the beach, the selection of tropical fruit and the range of restaurants available.

Something tells me that they would like their Honeymoon to have a little more planning behind it.
Hmmm...I can just imagine them pulling their wheelie luggage in around in the sand hoping to find a nice cottage. What are you thinking? ;)

    Honeymoon, not backpacking.

So, we'll try to find them the most luxurious holiday possible for their money.

Just because Bangkok is a big city doesn't mean that it should not feature in their Honeymoon.
A suite with a river view. A trip on the Express River boat to Wat Pho...all a part of the experience.

That's why I prefer to let people make their own decisions on what they would like. I'm happy to do some fine tuning, but in the end it's all a matter of taste.

Novotel Airport hotel on my honeymoon? No thanks.

100 sq. metre River view apartment(£50) and then drinks at Vertigo at the Banyan Tree(The picture shows precisely where you'll be sitting); http://www.banyantree.com/en/bangkok/index.html ? Much better.

Price differential between staying at the Novotel Airport Hotel and my scenario? Zero.

There are just so many variables.
Better to let the OP illustrate their particular taste and go from there.
