Job Interview

I went for a job interview 2 weeks ago today. (Tuesday). They said at the interview that they would let us all know something by Friday, even if it was that they hadn't made a decision. Friday came, and indeed an email came, to say no decision had been made and that the people they (the interviewers) needed to speak to were on leave. They advised the following:
Just wanted to touch base with to let you know we’re still considering, and we’ll be in contact as soon as there’s an update but it may be towards the end of next week.
The end of next week, was Friday just gone. Today is Tuesday.
What would you do? Just sit tight and wait or say something to them? I am desperate to know if I have been successful or not. Another candidate that I know still hasn't heard either.
Thanks for all advice

I don't see any harm in a polite email saying you look forward to hearing from them and asking if there is any further information they need when considering your applicationA kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

I had the discussion with hubby too, and he was in agreement with you-so I sent them a wee email this morning. Still no reply.....still waiting.....If I didn't want the job so badly I would have asked them where their manners were :rotfl:0 -
My husband was once kept waiting for 2 weeks. I don't think its polite.
Hope you find out soon!0 -
It's been 2 weeks and 1 day. 2 looong weeks lol0

I hope you get it.
Also note this is holiday time, so they might be on holidays/leave.
Or they could be comparing you and an other candidate, or are trying to get hold of that person. And if not then it will be you.
Hope all goes well for you.
Good luck.
Do let us know.0 -
****UPDATE****
I emailed the person who has dealt with the vacancy since the beginning of the process.
They still have no update, but thanked me for my patience, and said they will let me know as soon as they do. I don't suppose it's as simple as dishing out a job, they are setting up a completely new base. So I guess I will continue to wait-impatiently!0 -
Well, today is 15th September. I had my interview 11th August.
Apart from the short response after the last time I emailed, I have heard not a sausage.
Not even thanks but no thanks. Neither has the other candidate I know (we actually work together already). They are not a small company so I am fairly surprised by their lack of communication.
I would rather they just told me I was unsuccessful than nothing at all.
I wouldn't know what to do now if the offered it to me. Do they treat their current employees the same way? ***Big sigh****0 -
I agree ! What a rubbish shower they sound - keeping people waiting so long screams of lack of processes. Why didnt they check the selection panel would be fully available before they advertised. I suffer from extreme anxiety so dont work at the moment - but if I was - this behaviour would leave me with no fingernails left.
Hope they put you out of your misery soon - one way or other

Update.
Well would you believe it? After me posting this, they contacted me today and offered me the position!
The person I spoke to did apologise for the delay in getting back to me.
Now, what to do??0
