time limit on packaged accounts but not ppi?

Hi,

I was wondering if anybody knows why there is a 3 year time limit to claim on miss-sold packaged bank accounts but not on PPI?

A 3 year rule can apply to PPI as well. Indeed, some people have already hit the 3 years and others are in the period counting towards that time bar.

The FCA have a 3 year and 6 year timebar rule for a very long time.

Many banks have been writing out each year on the cost of the packaged account and the benefits available. It is these that can trigger the start part of any 3 year countdown. i.e. if you have had more than 3 years worth, then you can be timebarred from complaint

I found it strange that i was barred from making a claim due to ending the packaged account but if i'd kept paying it could have claimed. Seemed bizarre!
