OVO giving wrong price data via their website

Following on from my previous post about Scottish Power seemingly misleading customers, I now find that OVO are no angels either.

Take a look at the screenshots below. Notice anything strange? OVO say its costing me 11p per hour, no matter how much electricity I'm using. Which is obviously tripe.

This problem is present when viewing with Firefox, Chrome, or the default Android browser, on Android Lollipop (Galaxy S4) for what its worth. However, via a desktop browser, the cost figure does appear to update correctly.

I'm not sure I'd go as far as to say OVO is misleading customers here (although, technically they are), more that they will just be confusing customers by not ensuring their website works across a range of popular browsers.
I hear the cry of the silence around me.

ovo are ok, theyre cheap and use some renewable, which is a nice touch, but theyre far from professional in my experience

I am currently in a hefty credit with them, and getting bigger, as they seemingly feel the need to force me to pay more each month than i use, even in the winter months

still some work to do here, but theyre ok

Hello RoWaN. Can you help please? I only view the data on a desktop. Are you seeing data outages? I had no readings between midnight and midday today (for instance). I am trying to assess whether the Ovo server is down or whether there is a problem at my end.

Yes, big outages marked as "no data", usually during the day. I'm unsure if that simply means no usage, or actually no data collected. I'll call OVO in the morning and see what they say.

Thinking about it, the property in question has 3 fridges running 24/7 so I doubt there is any period of no usage.

They do let you choose how much DD you want to pay, I don't believe you are forced to pay a higher amount. We've been in debit for months now, still paying the same DD amount (thats another story...). Any credit you are in with OVO, they supposidly give you 3% interest. So, its not all bad.

    From Ovo website...
If you're using a mobile, it won't look perfect yet as it's not optimised for that device - but it will be very soon.

Haha.. "won't look perfect" ... bit of a stretch from "displaying the completely wrong prices".

Thank you, RowaN. I appreciate your response. It rather seems then that the outages are an Ovo server issue. It somewhat de-values the data having holes in the data collection.

For solar users, the system indicated negative costs applied at the import tariff rate. It's a great service from Ovo but contains a number of irregularities.

Communication with Ovo can be difficult on smart data issues. The respondents to emails often speak about about their talking to Ovo. I rather presumed that it is an outsourced service.

    Regards, Sterling.
