Interference with Airline Baggage. How do i complain?

Just returned from a coruna in spain with click airways. On arriving in heathrow we were told that no luggage had been loaded because the plane was to heavy (we were over an hour late leaving so not sure if it was this or the slot at Heathrow).
Luggage arrived the next day and on receiving both myself and the friend I travelled with had had non perishable foodstuffs (chocolate etc) removed from locked bags. No other items were taken but it seems that someone has had a few free meals at the passengers expense. Realise its not a major money issue but just from personal invasion and the security points of view it seems wrong.
Any advice on what i might/should do ?

The airline is responsible for your baggage from the point where you check it in to the point where they re-deliver it to you. Therefore, if you wish to complain, you must complain to the airline and you should do so a.s.a.p. after you discover any irregularity.
However, you are only entitled to compensation for damage or loss (or a refund for any substitute items you had to purchase because of a delay, i.e. toothbrush, underwear etc.). Whether it is worth the hassle over some chocolates is up to you to decide.
I can see why having a stranger rifle through your things is upsetting. However, the airline will, in practice, do nothing to investigate this.0 -
www.clickair.com is part owned by Iberia and quite frankly they have a couldn't give a monkeys attitude, I doubt you would get anywhere, but complain for record purposes for this unacceptable situation.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
