Awful Problems Today

A box popped up this afternoon while I was using my computer. It was headed Internet Explorer and Antiviruswinxp....2007. It looked suspicious and I did find that it was malware. I dealt with that - there is a lot on the Internet about it. I have a Dell machine with XP but I didn't know if a backup utility was installed. I was instructed to insert the XP disk and click on the backup utility. As far as I know I can now backup BUT I now have a box headed Windows - Wrong Volume and asking me to insert
volume XP2_per_ENG into Drive D. I cannot get rid of it.

Does anyone know what this is all about and how I can clean it all up?
