Tesco to Egg balance transfer

Requested balance transfer from tesco platinum to egg money card 16/08/07 - advises takes up to 7 days, fair enough.

Logged into Egg today as statment is produced today - they have added the balance xfer as of 16th, and also charged the daily interest due on the balance xfer amount. Fair enough.

However called tesco who advise that balance is still on tesco account.

My question is, why are Egg charging for this when tesco haven't received it? Are they charging as they've sent the amount to tesco, regardless of whether it's got there yet or not?

It's not a big deal, as I'm transerring onwards from Egg to a better offer, however wondered if you'd had any similar occurrences.

Its the black hole of banking.
Just the same as when you make any payment through the banking system it leaves one account and take a few days to reach its destination.
Get it transferred off asap, its costing you on a daily basis.
